The goal of NOTO is to research and identify news stories that are believed to be of interest to all those who have an interest in the paranormal; publish and maintain a paranormal news blog; encourage discussion, debate and thought in regards to paranormal news articles; ask the Who, What, When, Where, Why and How's that were never asked.
Membership
There are currently five types of members: Editor, Associate Editor, Researcher, Journalist, Club Member.
Editor - An editor is someone who oversees published content, works with a team of researchers, journalists and club members to develop, maintain and publish news articles that are of interest to paranormal researchers and enthusiasts.
Associate Editor - An editor-in-training. Works with an actual editor until they are believed to have developed the skills and are able to demonstrate their commitment to being an editor.
Researcher - A researcher is a member who spends time helping the group find stories and leads. They may either help a NOTO journalist with an original piece or help an editor find articles of interest. They may also provide additional information that help promote discussion, debate and thought.
Journalist - A journalist is a member who devotes most of their time to writing original pieces for the club, blog and/or Bureau. They can be introduction pieces for already-published articles or completely original works. Journalists must be approved by the Editors by demonstrating their knowledge and abilities of journalism as well as demonstrate their commitment to being a journalist.
Club Member - A club member is anyone who wishes to join the group and join in the discussion and goals of the group. They may assist in researching, submit original pieces to be considered for publication and participate in discussion, debate and thought. Anyone may be a member, although active participation is encouraged.
NOTO Group Events
NOTO aims to publish 3-5 news articles a day.
NOTO aims to promote discussion and debate within the group site daily. Members discuss the validity of submitted stories (original or already published from another group), the sources, the claims, etc.
NOTO aims to encourage members to grow to Journalists, Researchers, Associate Editors and Editors.
NOTO aims to include new events and discussions that help the group and its members grow. less
